Gilbert Perreault made an immediate impact in the NHL after being selected first overall by the
Buffalo Sabres in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft. In his rookie season, Perreault dazzled with his
smooth skating and elite puck-handling, recording 38 goals and 34 assists for 72 points —
setting a then-record for goals by a rookie. Perreault would go on to become the face of the
Sabres franchise, amassing over 500 goals and 1,300 points during his Hall of Fame career
while leading Buffalo to multiple playoff runs.
This 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee Gilbert Perreault rookie card (#131) has been graded PSA 7, placing
it among the finest examples of this coveted card. Of the 497 copies submitted to PSA over the
years, this pop-64 example is only bettered by 60 others on the PSA population report —
highlighting its rarity and high-grade status.
Housed in an excellent condition PSA holder, the treasure shows only a few very small
scratches upon close inspection — a minor note for accuracy. A fantastic representation of one of the NHL’s greatest playmakers, this Gilbert Perreault PSA 7 rookie card is an essential addition to any Hall of Fame rookie card collection.
