Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
An unrestricted free agent at the time of this writing, Matt Hunwick has dressed for six NHL clubs, and was originally selected by Boston, in 2004. The University of Michigan alum has also represented the US internationally. Acquired directly from the Toronto Maple Leafs, we have a jersey worn by the Michigan native in 2016-17, his second and last season in Ontario. A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and reverse necklines respectively. Featuring a vintage style Leafs team crest with embroidered detailing, “2” appears over the sleeves and verso in single white twill, with “Hunwick” across the sewn nameplate in matching material. The fight strap also sports a handwritten “1” to denote a “Set 1” garment. Sporting light game-use, there are a few random marks visible including over the upper right sleeve, with a small slit visible just above the front band. Getty Images #626454006 and #626454002 (Nov 26, 2016 vs Washington) have both been matched to the two dark marks over the “2” on the right sleeve, specifically to their shape and placement. The team patch numbered “G-0037” is affixed to the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany from the Leafs.
