Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Regarded as the game’s first major superstar, Fred “Cyclone” Taylor skated for a number of fabled clubs during his iconic HOF career, including the Renfrew Creamery Kings, Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Millionaires. Stories regale of his legendary feats, including once scoring a goal while skating backwards. Taylor would live until 1979, passing away at the age of 94. Featuring the definitive work on Taylor published in 1977, we have a copy of Eric Whitehead’s “Cyclone Taylor: A Hockey Legend” signed by the mythical luminary. Currently void of it’s dust jacket, the hardcover book has been signed by Taylor in blue ballpoint on the title page, with a personalization added along with the date of “March 9th 7-8” (1978). The signature is absolutely flawless, with just light handling wear to the book itself.
