Yvon Lambert’s offensive production bounced back in 1978-79 as he recorded 26 goals and 40 assists for the Montreal Canadiens and finished fourth in team scoring with 66 points behind only Lafleur, Shutt and Mondou. The Drummondville native would add five more goals in the playoffs to help the Habs capture their 22nd consecutive Stanley Cup championship. This Prince of Wales trophy was presented to Yvon Lambert for the Canadiens’ status as the 1978-79 Wales Conference regular season champions. At 13” in height, four silver-plated hockey sticks rise up from a 2 ½” wooden base to support a cup with an affixed coat of arms and removable lid. A plaque affixed over the front of the wooden base states, “Prince of Wales Trophy”, with “Yvon Lambert” engraved beneath, with a second plaque over the reverse sporting, "NHL Champions – Montreal Canadiens – 1978-79". A signed LOA from Yvon Lambert will accompany.
There is surface wear throughout including beneath the rim, with the trophy slightly loose from the wooden base.
