Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
Embarking on his legendary HOF career as a transplant in Manitoba with the famous Victoria Hockey Club of Winnipeg in the late-1890s, Jack Marshall was one of the game’s earliest prolific goal scorers, and was the first player in history to capture six Stanley Cup titles. Originating from the incomparable autograph collection of E. Robert Hamlyn, we have a rare handwritten and signed letter from the 1965 HOF inductee. At approx 5” x 8”, the single-page correspondence is undated, with Marshall mentioning Newfoundland hockey player George Faulkner. Finished with a crisp blue ballpoint signature at the base of the letter, the signature remains completely bold and vibrant. Marshall would sadly pass in 1965 at the age of 88.
In beautiful condition, sporting just the original horizontal fold lines, the letter also has holes punched along top from previous binder insertion.
