Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Jim Carey's 1997 Boston Bruins pro goalie mask by renowned mask designer and artist Dom Malerba has an absolutely "Ace" paint job. Carey won the Vezina Trophy with Washington in 1995-96 and was traded to Boston the following season. He played a total of 29 games in parts of two seasons with the Bruins; as a result, this creation never got to see active duty. Four aces are displayed across the chin with "Boston" and "Bruins" on each side below the white grill, and "Ace" is painted on the bottom of the backplate. Malerba has signed and dated "97" his handywork inside the right ear and his company's stickers are applied inside on both sides. A gorgeous piece with a few scratches and chips on the left side that are not from game wear.
