Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
As advertised in the title, Hall-of-Famers Toe Blake, “Black Jack” Stewart and Dave “Sweeney” Schriner lead the lineup here, with O-Pee-Chee’s 1940-41 hockey card effort featuring oversized 5” by 7” cards. With the numbering a continuation from OPC’s ’39-40 set, the #101 Blake card is thus the first in the ’40-41 issue, while Stewart’s card (#124) is his rookie card. The group is free of unsightly creases but is low grade, notably due to evidence of once having been glued, with paper loss and stains to be aware of, with a small pen mark on/near Toe Blake's face. Joining the HOFers are the cards of 102-Charlie Sands, 103-Wally Stanowski, 104-Jack Adams RC, 105-Johnny Mowers RC, 113-Gus Marker, 114-Alex Singbush RC, 115-Alex Motter RC, 117-Pete Langelle, 119-Reg Hamilton and 120-Red Goupille. A neat bonus is a similar picture card of famous cowboy/actor Gene Autry.
