Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Gorgeous crystal-clear image is that of Billy Boucher, one of the four famous Boucher brothers from Ottawa who skated in the NHL. Billy did so alongside Howie Morenz and Aur?le Joliat and helped the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup in 1923-24, scoring five goals in four playoff games. Boucher was just 5'7" and 155 pounds but was considered one of the scrappiest skilled players of the 1920s. Original 5" by 7" glossy photo from the archives of the Montreal Star newspaper has a few non-detracting peripheral cracks and offers a fantastic look at the Habs' red, white and blue turtleneck sweater of the day.
