Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
You’ve seen the photo, you know it’s one of the most iconic and arresting images from not only hockey but from the entire wide world of sports, and you know it’s Bobby Orr flying through the air after scoring the Cup-winner in game four of the Cup finals against the St. Louis Blues on a pass from Derek Sanderson at the 40-second mark of the first overtime period. Offered are two different photos of the goal, shot from different angles, with one measuring 24” x 20”, close up and personal, with Bobby signing in clear and bold blue marker as “Bobby Orr #4” and another, a 16” x 20” overhead shot of “The Goal”, signed in clear blue marker as simply “Bobby Orr” with the image of a beaten Glenn Hall, defenceman Noel Picard, who had helped send Orr through the air, along with Wayne Carleton celebrating in front and Turk Sanderson behind the net with arms raised. This photo comes with a mat, making the overall size 20” x 24”. Imagine how these two, which are both in great condition, would look framed and displayed. You’ll be the envy of the neighborhood. Please note, the close-up 24” x 20” picture has a PSA/DNA sticker attached in the bottom right corner, beside a Great North Road hologram sticker and code, but comes without an LOA.
