Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Historic as both the final Stanley Cup before expansion and the Toronto Maple Leafs last championship, the 1966-67 finals would go six games, with a heavily favoured Montreal squad humbled by a veteran Leafs team that included Hall of Fame members Terry Sawchuk, Tim Horton, Allan Stanley, Frank Mahovlich and others. We have a Stanley Cup trophy that pays homage to the historic 1967 championship. Produced by Boffey in the 1990s, green felt has been added to the underside, as these were generally made with brown felt starting circa-1990s. At just over 13” and affixed to a black wooden base, the names of the men who made it happen are engraved beneath Leafs executives, with “Toronto Maple Leafs” and “1966-67” engraved above. Heavy tarnishing is present throughout along with surface loss – including over the center of the engraved “Toronto Maple Leafs” text, with a few scratches also visible.
