Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Averaging more than a point-a-game during his 5 successful seasons with Pittsburgh, Paul Coffey would appear in the NHL All-Star Game in each of those 5 seasons, also winning a Cup in Pennsylvania in 1991. Employed during his first season with the Penguins, we have a stick used by the HOFer during the 1987-88 NHL campaign. A Sher-Wood PMP 5030 model, “Coffey 7” has been stamped-on, with “77” handwritten above (Coffey would switch from “7” to “77” while with Pittsburgh). A date code of “15 Sep 1987” appears in red along the underside, with the lumber retaining its original white tape over the blade and black over the knob and handle. Good use is exhibited on the desirable stick, with wear to the underside of the blade along with wear and marks to the shaft. A signed LOA from Paul Coffey will accompany.
