Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Eclectic lot features a mid-to-late-1980s New York Islanders #35 equipment bag and also includes Lou Francheschetti’s 1980s Washington Capitals game-used gloves as well as his circa-early-1990s Buffalo Sabres game-issued hockey pants. The Islanders heavy canvas zippered equipment bag in orange and blue with white handle straps has CB Sports tagging. It has “35” heatscreened in blue on each end and an zippered long inner nylon fabric pouch inside. There is a hole in the bottom left corner of the end of the bag with the CB Sports tagging where the stitching has let go, and the stitching has partly let go along the main zipper seam on one side of the top of the bag.
Francheschetti’s CCM game-worn gloves are in Capitals red, white and blue. The leather has worn through the right side of the palm of the left glove, and game wear shows in various scuffs to the padding, and stains on the cuff of the right glove. The dark blue Tackla hockey pants have the embroidered NHL shield sewn on the left pant leg. Pro 5000 N.H.L. flag tag remains inside the front flap, where another tag was cut out leaving the white outline of its remnants above the “new material only” tagging. A small “50” flag tag inside the rear hip has “+2cm Rib” handwritten on it. There are a few marks on the pants, but they are game-issued, according to our consignor.
