Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Excellent opportunity for Bruins fanatics and Boston Garden aficionados is this massive double-sided banner that once hung in the storied sports temple. Measuring a huge 8-foot by 12-foot, the sturdy nylon affair commemorates a banner campaign which was just the fourth NHL season for the Beantowners, and the franchise's first as American Division champs after securing first place with a record of 20-13-11. Led in scoring by HOFer Harry Oliver, with arch villain Eddie Shore topping the club in penalty minutes, the Bruins advanced to the semifinals where they lost to the New York Rangers in a two-game, total goal series. Classic Bruins logo is stitched to the golden banner, with “Division Champions 1927-28” below and the team’s name above. Intact with no major detracting flaws, the formidable arena memorabilia was originally sold in the historic 1996 Boston Garden auction.
