Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Hailing from the season that first witnessed plexiglas installed in Maple Leaf Gardens, we have a stick team-signed by the 1946-47 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs. A generic full-size adult model with no maker’s marks present and a thin layer of varnish, tape including electrical was later added over the handle and knob, with “Toronto Maple Leafs – Training Camp – 1946” handwritten across one side of the shaft. 17 have signed the same side including a rookie Bill Barilko along with deceased HOFers Broda, Kennedy, Apps and coach Hap Day. The stick itself shows light wear, with a crack/separation along the heel section.
Additional signers include Poile, Stewart, Klukay, Metz, Lynn, Stanowski, Mortson, Thomson, Boesch, Smith, Goldham and a few others including Eddie Shack, who added a large signature across the blade sometime later.
