Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Historically significant as it feature’s the first ever win for the vaunted Montreal Maroons at the newly-constructed Montreal Forum, we have a scarce program from a Dec 6th contest in 1924, with this just the second-ever game played by the legendary Maroons at the iconic venue, and their first win in franchise history. Featuring seven HOFers in the line-ups including Clint Benedict, Cy Denneny and Punch Broadbent, the Maroons would score three goals to the Senators single marker, with the score filled out beneath the listed line-up. Photos of a few of the players are present including Frank Nighbor, and it’s interesting to note that the first actual game played at the Forum was between the Canadiens and Toronto on Nov 29th, as the ice apparently wasn’t ready at the Habs Mount Royal home rink.
Both staples remain attached, with general wear to the rare program including some creasing and spine wear, with light toning to the interior pages.
