Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Some of the harder to locate memorabilia of the Bleu Blanc Rouge, we have a Montreal Canadiens vintage real photo postcard lot of 8, hailing from the late-1940s, with 5 different HOFers featured. Postcards are present for Maurice Richard, Toe Blake, Kenny Reardon, Elmer Lach, Bill Durnan (2 different), Murph Chamberlain and Leo Gravelle, with each example excluding Gravelle, Chamberlain and one Durnan identical to the images used for the 1945-54 Quaker Oats promotion. With matching unused postal reverses over each, the Blake, Durnan (1), Reardon, Lach and Gravelle examples all have their name listed over the obverse.
Condition is lower grade throughout, with each postcard exhibiting moderate to heavier wear with toning and creasing along with considerable corner, surface and edge wear. Most also show minor staining with glue residue over the reverse, with a few showing small areas of paper loss as well.
