Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Classic white durene Chicago Black Hawks game-worn jersey dates back to the late-1960s, as evidenced by the Berwyn (Ill.) address on the Gunzo's neck tag in the collar. Defenseman Doug Jarrett wore No. 20 for the Black Hawks up to 1968-69, and forward Cliff Koroll began wearing it in 1969-70. Following the fire that destroyed the team supplier's store in 1970, and subsequent Gunzo’s tagging listed River Forest (Ill.) as its location. The bottom of the size 50 fly tag in the collar is frayed, and the General Athletic tag is missing in the tail. Single layer tackle twill numbers are typical of Black Hawks uniforms from this period. There is a four-inch long team repair on the front of the jersey with a fabric patch inside
More game wear shows in black marks to the right of the fantastic chain-stitched Black Hawks crest on the front, on the front of the left sleeve, front and rear tails, and and board burns with red paint transfer on the right sleeve, back of the left sleeve, and on both sides of the front and rear hems.
