Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Offered is a vintage game-used CCM Pattern-Made Professional stick signed along its length by 15 members of the Detroit Red Wings roster of 1959-60. Best is the inclusion of Terry Sawchuk, who has added a very legible autograph midway down the shaft. Key signers include Sawchuk, Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio, Norm Ullman & Red Kelly who was traded to the Leafs after 50 games. The sig that dates the piece belongs to Jim Morrison who only wore the winged-wheel uniform in 1959-60. The autos are all in blue ballpoint and have lightened quite heavily over the years, with many examples hard to decipher, with the Sawchuk legible but light. The stick itself is a gamer of Montreal Canadiens’ Claude Provost, stamped "Provost" and "14" on the shaft, with the original black tape at the knob and blade. Nice use is exhibited, with wear including a crack that runs the length of the blade, with numerous marks, abrasions and paint transfer to the lower shaft.
