Worn for four games during the 2011-12 NHL season, we have a photo-matched “Hockey Fights Cancer” goal mask that was worn by star netminder Carey Price. Hearkening back to his roots in Anahim Lake, British Columbia, the mask feature’s a truly “Canadian” design by artist David Arrigo, with a native elder over each side in full headdress, along with a dream catcher and Habs CH logo over the forehead, and “Price” in stylized letters over the chin section. The strapping, interior padding and back plate are all intact, with the artist initialing over each side. Worn in the Oct. 15, 2011 contest vs Colorado, the Oct. 18, 2011 match vs Buffalo, the Oct. 20, 2011 contest vs Pittsburgh (photo-matched) and the Oct. 22, 2011 game vs Toronto (photo-matched), the attractive mask is ready for prominent display.
Game-wear includes a large chip over the upper chin section, with some surface wear over the metal cage. A Hockey Fights Cancer logo has also been added to the back plate, along with “Carson Kolzig Foundation.com” in affixed letters. Getty Images #130028016 and #129929807 (October 20, 2011 vs Pittsburgh) have been matched to the particular placement/details of the paint job over each side of the mask, while Getty Image #129992872 (October 22, 2011 vs Toronto) has been matched to the chip on the upper chin section. Finally, Getty Image #130957048 (October 22, 2011 vs Toronto) has been matched to the chip on the upper chin section, as well as to the three red lines/streaks on the top of the mask.
