Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

The Boston Bruins were awarded the Prince of Wales Trophy for their American Division regular season championship in 1937-38 on the strength of Bill Cowley’s 39 points, the superb goaltending of Tiny Thompson, who's 1.80 GAA earned him the Vezina Trophy at season's end, and Eddie Shore adding another Hart Memorial Trophy to his collection. Originally part of the Milt Schmidt collection and obtained directly from his family, we have an attractive photo of the 1937-38 Boston Bruins. At roughly 8 ½” x 13 ½”, the sepia-toned image pictures the full squad in an on-ice pose, with GM Art Ross along with fellow HOfers Shore, Thompson, Clapper, Schmidt, Cowley, Bauer, Dumart and Cooney Weiland. “Boston Bruins 37-38” has been handwritten beneath the image, with numerous creases and wrinkles present along with some toning. Despite these imperfections, the photo would display admirably framed.
