Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
The ridiculous “Banana Hook” curve on Bobby Hull’s late-1960s Chicago Black Hawks signed CCM Custom Pro game-used stick is what set NHL goalies running for cover when the Golden Jet wound up to take one of his fearsome slapshots. “B Hull 9” is stamped on the shaft below Bobby’s original tape job on the knob, which features his distinctive custom-shaved handle. Hull’s original tape job remains on the absurdly curved blade. The stick is signed twice, including a vintage black marker autograph that reads “To Tom, Best Wishes, Bobby Hull” below the “Gunzo’s Berwyn Ill.” stamp on the upper shaft, and a big, bold modern black marker signature on the front of the lower shaft. The late-1960s were an era of peak NHL productivity for Bobby Hull who surpassed 50 goals for the third time in four seasons in 1968-69 when he scored a career high 58 goals and 107 points.
“Bobby Hull #9 HOF 1983” reads the Golden Jet’s big, bold and beautiful black marker modern autograph low on the front of the shaft.
