Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Known as The Golden Jet for his flowing blond locks and speedy end-to-end rushes, Bobby Hull is one of the game’s all-time greatest players, with a pair of Hart Memorial and a trio of Art Ross trophies won, along with a Stanley Cup championship in 1961. We have a great collection of signed Hull items totaling 6, including two jerseys, two displays and a pair of photos. The jerseys are both Jets and Black Hawks examples, with Bobby signing each identically over the reverse numbers in blue marker, adding “The Golden Jet” and “HOF 1983”. The displays include one for the ’61 Cup win, with a team photo and signed 8” x 10” (76/161), framed to full dimensions of 23 ½” x 32 ½”. The second display is a signed 9 ½” x 12” print, framed to 15” x 19”, while the photos are both 8” x 10”, one in game-action, the other, the cover of a fishing magazine. Each item has a hologram affixed, with matching COAs to accompany.
The 1961 display has been signed within the individual photo in blue sharpie, with each piece double-matted, with the 11” x 14” team photo a modern copy. The signed print has also been double-matted and signed in blue sharpie, along with the two individual photos. Both jerseys have tagging and sizing within the collar (Large-Black Hawks/Medium-Jets), along with tackle twill crests and numbers. Each signature along with the added notations have bled somewhat into the material, but still display well.
