Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Featuring the final card issued of Maurice Richard during his historic Hall of Fame career, the 1960-61 Parkhurst issue expanded on the previous year’s effort with the addition of 11 cards, and with their clean and especially colourful design which included team logos over each reverse, the set stands as one of the more attractive releases from the company. We have a complete set offered, with this high-grade ensemble all encapsulated and graded NM-MT 8 by PSA, with a pair slightly higher at NM-MT+ 8.5. Pleasingly aesthetic with condition uniformity throughout and highlighted by examples of #20 Gordie Howe, #1 Tim Horton, #45 Maurice Richard, #61 Jim Morrison, #49 Jean Beliveau, #53 Jacques Plante (crack in holder), #31 Terry Sawchuk, #47 Henri Richard, #2 Frank Mahovlich and #3 Johnny Bower, the two higher grade cards at NM-MT+ 8.5 are #10 Dave Creighton and #28 Jerry Melnyk. Hard to improve upon and worthy of any advanced Original Six or vintage card collection, we should note some of the holders have glue residue over the reverse from previously affixed stickers.
