Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Parkhurst hockey card aficionados will be intrigued and enthused by this find which brings forth the story of uncut sheets of 1951-52 Parkies being used to package ’52-53 cards. Veteran hobbyist/author Bobby Burrell reports in his invaluable Vintage Hockey Collector books that a few different sources have validated the story. The cards here were cut from such wrappers/boxes, with two horizontal side-to-side fold lines present in six “full” cards, with Milt Schmidt leading the group. Others are #s 12-Curry, 27-Sullivan, 45-Hucul, 57-Skov and 85-Gardner, while with missing parts are 19-Sugar Jim Henry, 33-Kryznowski, 35-Ferguson and 41-Peters. Few creases are spotted, along with some not-always-straight edges. Oddball scarcities will be weird, wild acquisitions!
