A staple within five and dime establishments throughout the earlier part of the 20th century, machines like the offered circa 1940s “Hit A Homer” mechanical baseball game allowed patrons to wager a nickel for exciting simulated baseball play. At approx 16 ½” x 10 ¼” x 22” and featuring a wooden case with applied graphics, there is a metal lever positioned over the right front, with the slot for those endlessly inserted nickels placed along the right side of the machine. The back glass feature’s wonderful period baseball graphics, with the printed instructions inserted within the top right. Accompanied by the original key, the game is in working order, with surface wear to the green paint throughout, and no cracks to the back glass.
