Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2006-07 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders.
Number #7 on the Montreal Canadiens all-time list for games played, Tomas Plekanec is currently skating for Kladno in Europe, and he’s also represented his native Czech Republic on numerous international occasions, including at the World Championships and Winter Olympics. We have a Canadiens alternate captain’s jersey that was worn by Plekanec during the 2010-11 NHL season. A size “56” CCM label is affixed to the collar with handwritten “1”, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the famous CH team crest partially-embroidered, the “Away Set 1” V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Plekanec” across the nameplate in single blue twill. Game use includes a stick mark over the lower front, with a few additional marks over each sleeve. There is also some red paint transfer over the right elbow. The team patch (A02262) sits on the inside hem, while a hologram numbered “GU11409” from the Canadiens has been affixed to the reverse “4”.
