Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The first Detroit Red Wing in history to break the 1 million per season mark, Rogie Vachon witnessed 16 seasons of NHL action, winning three Stanley Cups along with a Vezina Trophy in 1968 along the way. We have a stick used by the Hall of Fame netminder, hailing from the 1971-73 time period. A Victoriaville Pattern Made Pro model, the stick features “R Vachon” vertically on the upper shaft, with the original tape over the blade and knob still present. The lower striping accent is almost gone, with a crack just above the top of the heel section, with the stick showing nice use overall. Puck marks are visible on both sides of the taped section of blade, with additional marks and abrasions to the paddle and lower shaft.
