Boston Bruins superstar Phil Esposito became a hero to Canadians during the 1972 Summit Series as the nation’s leading scorer, as well as one of the most outspoken of Team Canada players, with his leadership at the tournament inspirational. Offered here is a Northland stick used by Espo during the fabled international showdown. Originally obtained in Moscow by our consignor, this is the correct model of stick used during the series by Espo, who had 7 goals and 6 assists for 13 points in 8 games against the Soviets. A Northland Custom Pro model, "Esposito" is stamped on the shaft, with the original tape jobs remaining on the knob and blade, which has a few strands missing towards the heel. Bobby Clarke's signature is one of a few faded autographs visible on the shaft. Extensive red goal post paint transfer throughout the length of the shaft testifies to the great game use on this historic stick along with numerous dark marks, which has a cracked but still-solid blade.
