Pavel Datsyuk signed his 2001-02 Detroit Red Wings Easton game-used rookie season stick, a magnificent keepsake from a Stanley Cup championship season. Datsyuk finished fourth in Calder Trophy voting in his Hockeytown debut when he won the first of his two Cup titles with the Red Wings. The slick Russian forward went on to fill his trophy case by claiming the Lady Byng Trophy four times and the Selke Trophy three times. Datsyuk signed in silver paint pen low just above the heel on the front of the shaft of his rookie season gamer, which has his original tape jobs on the knob and blade. His number “13” is handwritten at the bottom of the front of his well-worn white tape job on the knob that displays a bit of red paint transfer. There is a tiny gouge towards the heel of the tape job on the blade. Most of the shaft was spray painted black as used by him but the paint was worn-off on most of the upper portion of the shaft partially revealing the Easton Synergy graphics. A white label on the back of the shaft below the knob reads “01/02 Red Wings rookie year”, and another label affixed low on the back of the shaft reads, “4. DATSYUK-01/02 RC Stick”.
