Stepping in to defend the Boston Bruins' net midway through the 1956-57 season when Terry Sawchuk was hospitalized because of nervous exhaustion, Norman Defelice appeared in 10 games for the Bruins before starring in the Eastern Hockey League, winning the George L. Davis Award as the league's top goalie six of seven seasons with the Clinton Comets from 1958-65. Offered here is Defelice's personal George L. Davis Award for the 1958-59 season. Also included is Defelice's personal replica of the Turofsky Trophy he won as the OHA Senior A leagues leading goalie with the 1967-68 Galt Hornets. Both trophies exhibit just light wear, with the hockey stick loose on the Turofsky replica trophy.
The 1958-59 trophy features a player statue on an 18" x 5" black wood base with an engraved plaque attached to the front with the trophy's and Defelice's names. A round wood panel attached to the back gives the trophy an overall height of 13 1/2". The 1967-68 trophy is featuring an engraved plaque on the front of a 3" tall, 5 5/8" square wood base with a 7" tall player statue, with the total height just over 10".
