Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Originating from the fifth and sixth installments of the popular annual outdoor NHL spectacle, we have a pair of official NHL game pucks, with one used during the first period of the 2012 Winter Classic in Philadelphia, between the Flyers and New York Rangers, on Jan 2, 2012 (won by the Rangers, 3-2), while the second saw action as the very first puck used in the 2014 Winter Classic, played in Ann Arbor, between the hometown Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs, on Jan 1, 2014 (won by the Leafs, 3-2). Each puck feature’s the unique logo from each respective Winter Classic. 18 pucks from the 2012 match (4 goal pucks and 14 game-used) and 17 from 2014 (5 goal pucks and 12 game-used) were handed directly from an on-ice official to an NHL/MeiGray Authentication Program director to be authenticated and labeled. The 2012 puck is numbered “142631” (light wear to puck), while the 2014 puck is numbered “149085”, with matching LOAs and CORs to accompany from MeiGray.
