Playing in each and every WHA season, Pierre Guite was originally drafted by Detroit, but never saw a single game of NHL action. Dressing for four different WHA clubs, Guite began his professional career with Quebec, skating his first three seasons with the club. This Nordiques jersey was worn by the Montreal native during the 1973-74 WHA season. Featuring a partially detached Tricot Sport Maska label affixed to the collar and measuring-out to roughly a size 44, the vintage durene garment has been styled with a layered tackle twill Nordiques team crest, with “6” sewn to the sleeves and verso along with “Guite” across the affixed original nameplate in matching material. The garter-style fight strap has also been reinforced as well as customized with tape to be used as a loop-style strap. The jersey shows great use with dark marks over the band and staining to the left sleeve, with pilling to the interior and two clumps of team repairs over the left elbow and one to the lower reverse. There is also large repairs at the collar and upper reverse, with the jersey likely ripped in a fight as Guite served as an enforcer.
