Wayne Gretzky, the whiz kid from Brantford, Ontario who was described on the back of his 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee rookie card as the best prospect to turn pro since Guy Lafleur sure lived up to all the advance billing, didn't he?! What a time were the 1980s and '90s for hockey fanatics who got to witness the most prolific scoring accomplishments of all-time. And we thought Espo's 152 points were an outlandish total for a single season. Talk about pulverizing the NHL record book - Wayne lit it up to the tune of four 200-point seasons and in five others he totaled more than 152! The Great One's first official cardboard appearance here features not perfect but pleasing centering, bright blue borders that pop and an immaculate-looking surface. Three smooth edges are also attributes, while the left edge exhibits roughness and edge chipping down by Wayne's skates. A minuscule white speck at the lower right corner is also spotted. The KSA holder, the label of which includes an alluring 9 MINT grade, exhibits a few subtle light scratches in Gretzky's shin pad area that do not affect the image of The Great One. A great one to enhance your encapsulated/Gretzky shrine!
