It is considered one of the greatest hockey games ever played and Peter Mahovlich played a starring role. Offered from Pete’s personal collection is a ticket stub from the New Year’s Eve 1975 game pitting the Soviet Red Army team against the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens at the Montreal Forum. According to Mahovlich, this ticket stub was his father’s ticket to the game, a 3-3 tie that saw Russian goalie Vladislav Tretiak hold off a furious offensive attack by the Habs, who outshot Red Army, 38-13. Mahovlich and Canadiens captain Yvan Cournoyer flanked Tretiak in a famous postgame photo. The Forum ticket stub with a $15 face value measures roughly 4” x 3” with creasing that is much more prominent on the verso with the Molson logo than on the front and is ready for suitable and worthy framing. Comes with Peter Mahovlich’s signed LOA.
