Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Celebrating the Pittsburgh Penguins first Stanley Cup championship and routing for the club to repeat, we have a large Penguins "Do it Again, Pens!" banner that was originally displayed at Three Rivers Stadium in 1992, accompanied by a Penguins 1991 Stanley Cup champions limited-edition watch. First, the heavy yellow vinyl banner is panoramic in style at 27" x 178", with "Do it Again, Pens!" in large affixed black vinyl letters, with a period Pens logo over the far left side. Reinforced with a fold-over thread-sewn border, grommets have been added along the top and side to facilitate hanging, with moderate overall wear to the material including surface wrinkles throughout, with just the very bottom "V" potion of the Pens logo detached. Produced by Jostens, the Montreux medallion watch's case and band are electroplated in 18K gold, with a Pens logo, Stanley Cup and "The Igloo" on the face, with "193/300" stamped to the underside. Sold for approx $200.00 thirty years ago, there is just light overall wear from use, with the original display box to accompany. A retail Sideny Crosby banner is also included (36" x 60").
