This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Predating the existence of the Super Bowl by more than half a century, and older than the NFL itself, the Grey Cup Trophy was first awarded in 1909, with the Toronto Argonauts winning the most titles in history with 17. Rarely offered, we have a large collection of Grey Cup ticket stubs totaling 24 and ranging from the Saskatchewan Roughriders first triumph at the 54th Grey Cup in 1966, to the last championship game to be played on natural grass at the 90th Grey Cup in 2002. Included, we have stubs for 1966 (2), 1968 (2), 1970, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 (2), 1981, 1982, 1983, 1985 (2), 1992 (2), 2001 (2) and 2002 (3). The lot also includes an additional 21 misc stubs with 15 Toronto Maple Leafs ticket stubs from the 1990s, 1994 World Cup stubs (2 different, from June 28, 1994 Brazil vs Sweden), two Toronto Raptors first home game stubs (Nov 3, 1995), and a pair of 1981 Canada Cup ticket stubs, with an example for the semifinals on Sept 11th (Canada vs USA), and a stub for the finals on Sept 13th (Canada vs Soviet Union). The majority of the stubs display well and sport expected condition issues from handling including edge wear and creasing.
