An NHL second round draft pick in 1970, selected after players Darryl Sittler, Reggie Leach and Gilbert Perreault, Bob Guindon was an original member of the Quebec Nordiques, and also spent seasons with the Winnipeg Jets, winning a trio of Avco Cup championships with the club. From his third and final season in Quebec, we have a Nordiques jersey worn by the Labelle native in 1974-75. An early style Maska label is affixed to the collar, with the vintage durene sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 48. The first season for the club’s famous fleur-de-lys that that traditionally adorn Nordiques sweaters, large twill examples with “Quebec” inserted grace each shoulder, with a layered tackle twill team crest utilized and sleeve and verso numbers in matching material. “Guindon” is screened in red across the sewn nameplate. There is also no fight strap. A rarely seen style from one of the most collected WHA clubs.
Sporting nice game-use with a few large stick marks including over the upper front, there is also minor pilling, with blue paint transfer near each elbow section. The team crest and numbers also show wear, with residue and puckering to the team crest, as well as just puckering to the reverse numbers. A large team repair is also visible, situated between the front band and hem.
