Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A presented memento from the dawn of the Montreal Canadiens legendary late-1950s Stanley Cup dynasty, these splendid silver-plated three-sectional platters were presented to members of the Habs organization after winning their second straight title in April 1957, with this example originally presented to Bob Turner. At approx 14” x 20” and sporting a weight of roughly 4 lbs, "National Hockey League - Stanley Cup Winners - 1956-1957 - Club De Hockey Canadien Inc. – Bob Turner" is engraved at the top of the raised central panel, with "Wm Rogers & Son, E.P. on copper (electro plated) 157" engraved on the reverse. Dent and damage free with an even coat of tarnish throughout, the tray remains in very good condition and will display marvelously. Turner was a member of each of the Habs five Stanley Cup dynasty-wins.
