Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
One of only six NHL players in history to have scored two Stanley Cup winning goals, Jacques Lemaire skated for a dozen seasons in Montreal, winning eight Stanley Cup championships. The Lasalle native would later coach for seventeen seasons. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Montreal Forum and possibly later at the Bell Centre, we have a Hall of Fame honoured member framed photo of the star. At 7 ½” x 10” (exposed), the modern print depicts Lemaire in celebration while members of the Boston Bruins including Brad Park appear dejected. A gold-coloured name plaque listing his induction year (1984) has been inserted beneath, double-matted and framed to 16” x 16”, with some light wear to the frame to note. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
