The 14th selection at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, netminder Devan Dubnyk made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers in 2009-10. After partial seasons in Arizona and Nashville, the Regina native has spent six seasons with the Minnesota Wild thus far, which includes three All-Star Game appearances. This attractive customized mask was worn by Dubnyk in 2016-17, and it has been photo-matched to the regular season, All-Star Game and playoffs. A Bauer model with custom paint job by mask artist Franny Drummond, the cage, throat protector and interior padding are intact, with the back plate kept by Dubnyk as a souvenir according to the accompanying LOA. Featuring a wonderful winter scene complete with pond hockey and toque-wearing giraffes, the Wild’s third logo appears over the top, with a hologram affixed to the interior.
The mask shows thorough game-use, with numerous marks, dings and surface abrasions visible, with chips over edges on each side. There is also a small area on the forehead where the finish was chipped and a small piece of green tape was added, with some soiling visible underneath the mouth guard. Getty Image #633052076 (Jan 29th, 2017 All-Star Game) has been matched to the exact placement of the custom graphics throughout, to the lace portion used to secure the throat protector, to the chip on the bottom left corner and to the surface line visible through the white star on the left side of the mask just above the affixed cage, while Getty Image #665500634 (April 6, 2017 vs Colorado) has been matched to the exact placement of the custom graphics throughout, to the chip visible along the top edge on the right reverse, and to the dark line visible between the cage and mask just above the giraffe’s head. Next, Getty Image #658661182 (March 26, 2017 vs Detroit) has been matched to the exact placement of the custom graphics throughout, to the chip visible along the top edge on the right reverse, to the dark line visible between the cage and mask just above the giraffe’s head and to the exact shape and size of the small area of damage beneath the white star on the right side of the mask just above the affixed cage. Finally, Getty Image #671981132 (Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinal vs St Louis, on April 22, 2017) has been matched to the exact placement of the custom graphics throughout, to the chip visible along the top edge on the right reverse, to the dark line visible between the cage and mask just above the giraffe’s head and to the exact shape and size of the small area of damage beneath the white star on the right side of the mask just above the affixed cage. This image also shows the dark line through the sun on the right side and the wear pattern on the right-side forehead, just above the cage.
