Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2020
Held during September and featuring games played in five Canadian cities, the 1976 Canada Cup was the first of five such tournaments, with the red and white defeating a talented Czechoslovak squad in a two-game final. Broad Street Bully Bobby Clarke would serve as captain, while superstar Bobby Orr garnered MVP honours and Rogie Vachon would finish the best goaltender. Issued by Future Trends in 1992, we have a collection of five signed Canada Cup ’76 hockey cards, with each encapsulated by PSA/DNA, with both the autographs and cards themselves graded. Included, we have Orr (MINT 9 card and NM 7 autograph), Clarke (EX-MT 6 card and MINT 9 autograph), Vachon (MINT 9 card and MINT 9 autograph), Hull (NM-MT 8 card and MINT 9 autograph) and Sittler (MINT 9 card and MINT 9 autograph). Each card has been signed in fitting gold, with no issues for the holders. We should also note that these cards were originally inserted randomly into Future Trends packs, with each player signing 750 cards for a total of 3,750 signed cards.
