Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The de facto leader of the Montreal Canadiens after the retirement of superstar Maurice Richard in 1960, Jean Beliveau would continuously take the club to the promise land during the decade, winning five Stanley Cup championships along with the inaugural Conn Smythe Trophy, in 1965. Hailing from the early-to-mid-1960s, we have a signed stick used by the timeless legend. A CCM Pattern Made Custom Pro model, “Beliveau” and “4” are stamped to the upper shaft, with the original white-over-black tape on the knob, with the blade tape removed to facilitate the large and flawless black marker signature. There is also a stamp from team supplier “McNiece’s” on the top side of the shaft. Moderate game-use is exhibited on the vintage lumber, with wear to the blade and lower shaft, with a bit of minor water staining midway down the shaft.
