This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Considered the golden age of NHL hockey by fans and critics alike, the Original Six era begun with the Brooklyn Americans suspending operations after the 1941-42 season, and concluded with the NHL expansion of 1967 that doubled the league from six to twelve teams. Featuring five of the Original Six clubs, we have a signed photo and picture collection of fifty-three which includes fifteen deceased HOF members. Missing just examples from the Montreal Canadiens, included, we have fifteen examples signed by Leafs including deceased HOFers Bentley, Bower, Stanley, Kennedy, Pronovost and Kelly, thirteen from the Red Wings including deceased HOFers Lindsay, Howe, Kelly and Abel, twelve from the Rangers including deceased HOFers Bower, Stanley, Worsley and Rayner, nine from the Black Hawks including deceased HOFer Pilote, and four from the Bruins. Some of the living HOF signers include Orr, Park, Ullman and Delvecchio. Ranging in the 8” x 10” size or slightly larger, the majority of the collection is made up of glossy prints, with the Bentley and Rayner magazine pages. A number of photos are also dual-signed. The signatures display beautifully in the collection, with light to moderate handling wear to the photos/pictures themselves.
