Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Artist Ken Danby perfectly captures Bobby Orr’s stately grace in retirement in this beautiful print. As Number 4 poses on the ice of Boston Garden, the background relives his greatest moment – flying through the air after scoring the Stanley Cup-winning goal against Glenn Hall of the St. Louis Blues on May 10, 1970. Exquisitely double-matted and framed to approx 34” x 40”, this piece is numbered “2634/4444”, and bears beautiful pencil signatures from both Orr and the artist. A perfect addition to the collection of any fan of the great defenceman or the Boston Bruins, there are no issues for the signature, with some very minor warping to the matte visible near the limited-edition number. There is also a “Mill Studios Corporation” seal embossed over Danby’s pencil signature within the bottom right. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany this piece.
