Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
This important and scarce Victoriaville Pro model stick saw use in the skilled hands of famed Boston Bruins blueliner Bobby Orr during arguably his greatest season in 1969-70, one that saw the icon garner unmatched hardware including the Art Ross, Hart Memorial, Conn Smythe and James Norris Trophies before scoring one of the most famous goals in history to capture the 1970 Stanley Cup. Rare and highly sought after style, dated by the 5-stripe celluloid accents on the shaft, the stick was used by Orr from about December, 1969 to May, 1970. Stamped "Orr" on the upper shaft, the original and aged cream-over-black tape job resides over the handle/knob, with the original black tape job over the blade no longer intact. In excellent condition exhibiting light game use, the top striping accent is now missing, with some minor damage to the lower example.
