Capping off his final four NHL seasons as a perennial Stanley Cup champion, Yvan Cournoyer spent his entire 16-season Hall of Fame career in Montreal, with the Conn Smythe earned for his remarkable 25 points scored during the 1973 postseason. From his final campaign with the Bleu Blanc Rouge, we have a stick used by the Roadrunner in 1978-79, where he appeared in just 15 games. A Canadien Fibreglass model, “Y. Cournoyer” appears over the upper shaft, with the lower striping accent intact. Sporting the original black tape over the blade, the handle has been shaved – common for Cournoyer gamers – with a small spiral tape pattern added. The top and underside of the shaft have also been shaved somewhat, with a date stamp of “22 Nov 1978” visible along the underside. The stick shows nice use and remains completely solid, with wear to the taped section of blade along with marks, abrasions and red and blue paint transfer to the lower shaft.
