Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
An impressive sculpture in wood of the Montreal legend highlights this group of items from the personal collection of iconic Hall of Fame superstar Jean Beliveau, followed by an additional pair of sculptures and a pair of framed displays. First, the Beliveau sculpture is 16” in height and carved from a blond wood, with a darker wood base, with the artist signing along the left side, adding the “2005” year (the hockey stick appears to have broken off at some point and was glued, and is currently loose). Next, we have a framed Montreal Canadiens silver proof dollar display, with the coin inserted over the top, with a plaque listing the particulars added at the base, framed to approx 14 ½” x 21”. The second display is a framed honourary Doctor of Laws degree certificate from Ryerson University dated May 2009, with a seal over the bottom right, framed to 16 ¾” x 20 ½”. The remaining sculptures are both solid wood, and include a sea man with walking stick and telescope (14”), while the second depicts a voyageur complete with toque and fire wood stack (12”). An LOA from the Beliveau family will accompany.
