Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
The precursor to the plethora of table top hockey games that would flood the market during the second half of the 20th century, this earlier “National 6-Man Hockey” game was produced by Toronto’s Munro in the 1940s, and includes the rarely-seen original instructions. At approx 14 ½” x 37” and constructed of wood with metal and plastic components, each player remains intact along with both nets, with the rink’s red and blue lines screened-on, along with a small maple leaf at center ice. Cardboard with the affixed instructions covers the underside – with this panel almost always missing, with the handles used to launch the metal ball from each side missing. In good overall condition, there is moderate to heavier surface wear throughout, with both the players and goaltenders fully operational.
