Five members of the Baseball Hall of Fame are featured in this collection of five autographed baseballs. Inclued is a dual-signed ball autographed by 2016 HOF inductee Ken Griffey Jr. and his father, Ken Griffey Sr. Single autographed baseballs signed by Rollie Fingers (HOF 1992), Nolan Ryan (HOF 1999), and Andre Dawson (HOF 2010) are also included along with a baseball signed by Ken Griffey Sr., who was a key component of Cincinnati’s Big Red Machine that won back-to-back World Series titles in 1975-76. Each baseball comes with JSA Basic Certification.
The Griffeys became the first father-and-son tandem to play together in the major leagues when they were Seattle Mariners teammates in 1990-91. Ken Sr. was named MVP of the 1980 All-Star Game and slashed .296/.359/.431 with 364 doubles, 152 homers, 859 RBIs, 200 stolen bases and 1,129 runs scored over the course of his 19-year career.
Junior averaged over 52 homers a season during a four-year span at the peak of his career from 1996-99, driving in over 140 runs in three straight seasons and hitting 56 homers in consecutive seasons in 1997-98. The AL MVP in 1997, Griffey Junior played in 13 All-Star games, winning All-Star MVP in 1992, seven Silver Slugger awards, and 10 Gold Gloves for his sensational highlight reel defense in center field. His 22-year career slash line was .284/.370/.538 with 524 doubles, 630 homers, 1,836 RBIs, 184 stolen bases, and 1,662 runs scored.
The dual-signed baseball features two bold blue ballpoint autographs, with Ken Griffey Jr.’s on the sweet spot, and Ken Griffey Sr.’s autograph on the panel just above it on a Rawlings Official AL Bobby Brown baseball. JSA cert sticker with No. FF62100 is affixed to the left of Brown’s facsimile signature.
A single-signed baseball with Ken Griffey Sr.’s bold blue ballpoint autograph on the sweet spot has a JSA cert. sticker with No. FF62099 affixed to the right of the Rawlings Official AL Bobby Brown stamp. The ball exhibits some brownish discoloration around the autograph.
Fingers anchored the bullpen of Oakland’s Swingin’ A’s dynasty to three straight World Series titles over the course of five straight playoff appearances from 1971-75. Named MVP of the 1974 World Series, the mustachioed reliever saved 341 games in 17 seasons from 1968-85 during an era where 20 saves per season was the benchmark off an ace closer. He won both the AL Cy Young and MVP with Milwaukee in 1981, and was named to the All-Star Game seven times.
Fingers signed along with “HOF 92” in bold black ballpoint ink that has bled ever so slightly on the edges of the autograph. He signed on the sweet spot of a Rawlings baseball that has a JSA cert. sticker with number FF62097 affixed to the right of the Major League Specifications on the opposite side of the ball from the sweet spot.
Ryan had an astounding seven no-hitters and 5,714 strikeouts during an incredible career that lasted from 1966 to 1993. He won the World Series in 1969, closing out a 5-0 win over Baltimore in Game 3 to help New York’s Amazin’ Mets go on to celebrate an improbable five-game win over a powerhouse Orioles team. Ryan pitched his first four no-nos with the California Angels, and added his fifth with Houston in 1980 before closing out his career with two more for the Texas Rangers.
Ryan placed a bold blue ballpoint autograph on the sweet spot of a Rawlings Official AL Bobby Brown baseball. JSA cert sticker with No. FF62098 is affixed to the left of Brown’s facsimile signature.
Dawson hit 438 homers and had 1,591 RBIs in 21 seasons with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Florida Marlins. Named NL rookie of the year with Montreal in 1977, Dawson was the runnerup in NL MVP voting in three straight seasons from 1981-83. He won eight Gold Gloves and four Silver Slugger awards, and was ultimately named NL MVP in 1987 after hitting 49 homers and driving in 137 runs with a .287/.328/.568 slash line for the last-place Cubs.
Dawson placed a bold blue ballpoint autograph on the sweet spot of a Rawlings baseball that has a JSA cert. sticker with number FF62096 affixed to the left of the Official League ROLB1 stamp on the opposite side of the ball from the sweet spot.
