Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

From the original owner who enjoyed but did not abuse his cards comes this interesting 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee smorgasbord, with minimal creases and most cards EX or better and the average easily EX+, with dozens of NMs to discover. Issues to note include two marked/creased checklists and 24 of 26 stamps pasted on their appropriate backs, including Orr, Howe and Hull (all otherwise EX). A subtle quarter-inch crease sends the Tony Esposito RC to VG+, similar to #212-Orr All-Star, with 209-Orr Norris EX-MT and Savard RC VG-EX. There are two Howe Mr. Hockey cards, both without "193" and with factory-produced vertical wrinkles. Nine 4-in-1 inserts carry some value, with more details and photos available on our website.
Eight of nine 4-in-1s include only minor flaws, oftentimes a little crease in the border, extending from a perforation, along with light corner wear. Examples featuring Hull, Plante, Beliveau, Richard, Mikita and Cheevers are most notable, with that including Savard affected by back damage. Un-used mini-card albums are led by the Canadiens and North Stars (both EX), with the Flyers and Rangers both VG-EX. Others have between one (Oakland) and all six (Detroit, Los Angeles) mini-cards affixed, with Orr and Esposito featured in the Bruins album. Others are Leafs, Penguins and Blues, all with five of six mini-cards present. Over a dozen stamps, including Howe and Hull, are throw-ins, most of them having been stuck and removed from cards. The two cards without stamps are those of Mikita and Vadnais. Lots of possibilities with this fun stuff.
